HelloNzb has switched to Java 8

20 January, 2015 (11:56) | News | By: Matthias

With the latest HelloNzb version 1.4.2 we have switched to Java 8. That means the application does not run with a smaller version of Java.

So if you get an error message like “UnsupportedClassVersionError: Unsupported major.minor version 52.0“, or if HelloNzb simply does not start at all without any error message, then download the latest Java 8 version and try again!

You can download Java for free from java.com/download.

New version 1.4 released

12 May, 2014 (23:36) | New Version | By: Matthias

We are very happy to announce the release of HelloNzb version 1.4. One of the main new features in this version is the option to set an alternative Usenet server, as requested by many of our users. You can now set a second server in the application settings, which will be automatically used as alternative download server if the a file is missing on your main server.

Another new feature is the option to use MultiPAR on Windows machines (via par2j.exe). Thanks to Fredo for implementing this into HelloNzb!

Additionally these changes have made it into HelloNzb version 1.4:

  • Fixed bug in logging window (debug messages)
  • Fixed bug in the “Open Download Folder” context menu item on Linux systems
  • Some speed and performance improvements

You can grab the latest version of HelloNzb from the sourceforge download section.
Please feel free to report any bugs you may find in this new release.
